The point of this blog is to give members an inside look into the world of asba and the insanity that ensues on a daily basis. Given that I find it only fitting that I begin my very first blog with the story of Cera...
Cera is our pet name for our printer, a Kyocera. Cera is probably the most temperamental printer on the planet. I personally like to think of Cera as a pre-teen (a tween or tweenie), she's about as old as a pre-teen and just as sensitive as one too. Most of us have a love-hate relationship with her...heavy on the hate :) Well, Cera's favorite thing to do in the entire world is to breakdown on the very days we actually have mass amounts of printing to do. 99.9% of the time this is right before a major event.
Holding true to form Cera decided to throw a fit last Thursday, right before our Open House and Mixer. On a temper tantrum scale she was hitting a 9.5. It was so bad we even had to call in the Printer Whisperer (aka the Kyocera Repair Man). He was able to get her somewhat in line but for us it was too late, the mixer was only an hour away from starting. So I kid you not, as a group the asba staff decided that Cera had been bad and that we put her in the storage closet during the Open House as punishment for being bad. Literally, grown adults had a discussion about giving Cera a timeout...reason #10,976 why I love my job and the people I work with.
Next time you are in the office feel free to stop by an say hi to Cera.Maybe we can all kill her with kindness.
