Community change-makers come together in Tucson for the first Arizona Living Economy Forum to showcase what’s working locally to drive prosperity in Arizona. This inaugural event is hosted by Local First Arizona, Mrs. Green’s World and the YWCA of Southern Arizona. Each of the six Forum tracks covers a topic that is significant for the advancement of Tucson’s and Arizona’s local economy - Food, Soil & Nature – Investing in soil, local food, and nature-based businesses and infrastructure to increase the circulation of local foods in our economy. Localism and Localist Policies – Promoting a culture of local, cooperative, and community owned businesses and organizations, and advocating for policies that support these initiatives. Shared Ownership and Community Capital - Cultivating democratic economic models: worker ownership, land trusts, public assets, the commons; divesting from Wall Street to invest in communities and using philanthropy to mitigate risk for pioneers. Innovation for Good – Building entrepreneurial capacity to meet local needs and innovate toward the greater good. Health & Soul – Using health, soul, and inspiration to convene entrepreneurs and catalyze the courage of their hearts. Opportunity for All – Investing in opportunity in historically oppressed communities, aligning to create shared prosperity.
