Why your search rankings may disappear soon
Google rolled out its Panda 4.0 update last month. If you noticed your search rankings have gone down it may be because of Panda. This most recent refresh is Google’s latest attempt to keep low-quality sites from ranking highly in the search results. Google engineer Matt Cutts says the reason Panda was released originally was to reward original content.

“If you are not ranking as highly as you were in the past, overall it’s always a good idea to think the quality of the content on your site. Ask yourself, ‘Is there stuff that’s derivative, duplicate, or just not as useful? Can I come up with something that’s original; something that people will really enjoy?’ Those kinds of things will be a little bit more likely to rank higher in Google rankings.” – Matt Cutts, Google Webmasters

For many small businesses, Panda isn't a concern, because according to a recent survey by Google and Ipsos, fifty-five percent of small businesses still don’t have a website.

Small business owners may not understand there are many quick & affordable options that make creating a website easier. Companies like Wix, Google, SquareSpace, Wordpress and Weebly require no coding or special skills. Users choose a template, drag & drop photos and paste in text. Studies show that at the very least a website is necessary for most small businesses because it validates you in your customer's eyes.

How the "Move Over" bill protects your employees
Every day, AAA assists more than 1,200 stranded members across the state, and for some, waiting for help alone on the side of a highway can be a scary experience. However, thanks to the “Move Over” bill passed in  2011, this situation may be less intimidating.  AAA spokesperson Michelle Donati says this law helps keep business fleets safe.

What this did was instead of simply protecting just first responders, this now protects all Arizona motorists; Tow truck drivers, highway service workers, stranded motorists, small business fleets… basically every vehicle in Arizona is protected by this expanded law. – Michelle Donati, AAA

Greetings, I greatly appreciate the information in this video post. It is great for business owners to understand the changes taking place in the world of search marketing. However, the continued over-simplification of website production and creation is really a disservice to small business owners. While some tools might proclaim to simply the web building process I have yet to find one that any successful business owner can complete on his/her own. Lastly, with all the changes to the search engines having a qualified expert build and maintain a business website is very important.
