Phoenix, AZ, May 18, 2018 – Serving the Maricopa County Region since 1994 Cypress HomeCare Solutions (Cypress) continues to fulfill its mission to provide quality, individualized and compassionate care to clients so they can age successfully and independently in their own homes. Given the personal nature of home care, it’s important for any agency to have a strong set of principles guiding their practices. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) has once again recognized Cypress with the Torch Awards for Ethics.

The BBB Torch Awards for Ethics recognizes companies who exemplify strong ethics, leadership and social responsibility. It is open to for-profit businesses who are in good standing with BBB. Following a nomination, each company must demonstrate their commitment to ethics in each of the following categories: Leadership Commitment to Ethics, Communications of Ethical Practices, Organizational Commitment to Ethical Practice, Organizational Commitment to Performance Management Practices, Organizational Commitment to Ethical Human Resource Practices and Organizational Commitment to the Community.

Back in 2013 Cypress was the first home care/home healthcare agency to be nominated for this prestigious award.  They were then selected as one of three finalists. As if this wasn’t a big enough honor, Cypress went on to be selected as the winner in its category.  After waiting the required five years to be considered again, Cypress was once again selected as the 2018 Torch Awards for Ethics winner.

(PHOENIX, AZ) The Glendale Airport Aviation Advisory Committee recently approved for StarshineAZ to open their co-op and co-working space for women inside the Glendale Airport terminal. 

“We are so pleased that the committee understood our concept and gave us the co-ahead,” stated Susan F. Moody, Starshine co-founder. “My business partner, Leeanne Gardner, and I are committed to creating this space for women in the West Valley and the Glendale Airport was our 1st choice.”

Not only is the Glendale Airport in the heart of the West Valley, but the building offers a quiet nurturing atmosphere, has access to a large training room and room for expansion. “The best part,” according to Leeanne, “is that that there is a restaurant on site. Why go to Starbucks when you can come to Starshine?!” she quips.

StarshineAZ inspires, supports and mentors women business owners who find their passion and their purpose through their company and provides them with the Systems, Training, Advice and Resources so they can achieve greater success in their business and happiness in their life.

 

“Let’s face facts,” says Moody, “women grow their businesses differently than men. While men thrive in a competitive environment, women prefer a cooperative atmosphere. While men like to work individually; women prefer to work collectively.” Opening this May, StarshineAZ will be offering a collaborative co-working space and co-op for women entrepreneurs.

Modular Solutions, Ltd. Adds 50 New Positions

Modular Solutions, Ltd. will build LEED certified school for Bureau Of Indian Education

Phoenix, AZ, March 6, 2017– Modular Solutions, Ltd. was awarded a $14MM project in MN to build their first LEED certified modular school campus. This project will require the addition of at least 50 new employees.  A LEED certified project requires an extensive amount of project documentation and this project will also require the accelerated construction schedule that only prefabrication can offer.

Mr. Joe Hart, Modular Solutions, Ltd. President says “What a great opportunity to share the message of prefabricated buildings, and the high construction standards that can be achieved” He added “we are able to accelerate this schedule by months and still offer LEED certification of the project.”

This project will add at least 50 new positions in the factory and design department as well as offering job opportunities to local sub-contractors and suppliers.

JACK LUNSFORD NAMED PRESIDENT & CEO AT THE ARIZONA SMALL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION

 

Phoenix, Ariz. – After serving as “Interim” for five months Jack Lunsford has been named permanent President and CEO by the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA). Lunsford is a former ASBA Board member.

 

“Jack is a visionary thought leader and change agent”, remarked Jason Trujillo, ASBA’s 2017 Board Chair. “There’s no question that Jack’s record as a well-known business, public policy, and community leader throughout the valley and state will greatly benefit ASBA through his outstanding leadership.” 

 

The federal government defines small business in the U.S. as those businesses having less than 500 employees. That means that 97% of the businesses in Arizona are small businesses, and ASBA represents those businesses as well as major companies.

 

“We are reshaping and rebuilding ASBA through rebranding to be more relevant for our members and to provide them with more innovative services,” Lunsford said. “We intend to be the voice of small business in Arizona, providing dynamic leadership and advocacy throughout the state.”

 

Non-profit leadership is a very familiar role for Lunsford, who has served as President & CEO of WESTMARC, the Greater Maricopa Foreign Trade Zone, and the Arizona Community College Coordinating Council. While with WESTMARC he was recognized by The Phoenix Business Journal as one of the Valley’s “50 Powerful People” and one of its “Most Admired CEOs & Top Level Executives”, and he received the ASU West Visionary Award jointly with WESTMARC.

 

“Jack’s commitment to Arizona’s small businesses, combined with his contagious energy, brings an excitement and attitude to the Board and staff that ASBA hasn’t seen in many years,” noted ASBA Past Chair Nick Petra.

 

A Phoenix native, Lunsford has more than 40 years’ experience in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. In 2014 he served as Special Assistant for Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, supporting him on economic development, education, transportation, healthcare, and homelessness issues. He is also the founding director of the Office of Government Relations and External Affairs for the Maricopa Community Colleges where for 20 years he was the chief policy and political advisor to the Chancellor and Governing Board. 

 

Lunsford’s honors include being a recipient of the Arizona Capitol Times “Leaders in Public Policy ‘Unsung Hero’ Award and national recognition as the “Marvin D. ‘Swede’ Johnson National Achievement Award for Outstanding State Relations in Higher Education”. He was also named one of the inaugural “West Valley ‘24’ Movers & Shakers” by West Valley Magazine.

 

Lunsford has twice held elected office:  as Coconino County Assessor (youngest in state history) and as a board member of West-MEC (a Maricopa County JTED school district). He is twice an Arizona banking officer, was a rural Arizona radio station executive, and is a former account executive for Mountain Bell/AT&T. Lunsford remains President of The Lunsford Group, an Arizona small business.

International Femtor® Award Recognizes Top Entrepreneurs and Philanthropists

The eWomenNetwork Foundation today announced its 17th annual International Femtor® Awards Gala will take place on Saturday, August 5th in Dallas, Texas during the eWomenNetwork’s International Conference and Business Expo- the largest four day women’s business conference in North America.

Nominations are now being accepted for Emerging Leader of the Year Award.  This award recognizes our female leaders of tomorrow across the United States and Canada and helps them realize the promise of a vibrant future. Nominees must have demonstrated significant accomplishments in the areas of academics, business or community service.  The nomination deadline is March 31, 2017. www.femtorawards.org.
