Every two years, NSBA brings together small-business leaders from across the country at the Small Business Congress to discuss and develop a small-business agenda for upcoming session of Congress.

As their regional affiliate the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) in coordination with the NSBA will host the Small Business Congress.  This will give attendees a unique opportunity to network and discuss best practices for business growth and engagement, as well as discuss the key policy issues facing small business today.

Arizona Small Businesses Doing More With Less

Posted By Jerry Bustamante, Arizona Small Business Association, Tuesday, November 18, 2014

Rick Murray

Phoenix, AZ (November 18, 2014) - A recent survey conducted by the Arizona Small Business Association revealed that small businesses in Arizona are doing more with less.  The survey found that in the previous twelve months, revenues have increased for 49% of small businesses who answered the survey while another 37% indicated that revenues have stayed the same.  During this same period of time however, only 23% indicated that their number of employees have increased while the rest have either stayed the same or decreased.

“Small business operators are very resourceful and are finding ways to accomplish more with less,” said Rick Murray, ASBA CEO.  “Entrepreneurs are creative, make great use of technology and are always looking for opportunities to increase efficiencies.”

Payroll, employee benefits and payroll taxes are usually among the top expenses for non-retail based small businesses in Arizona.  ASBA has also found that Arizona small businesses continue to recover from the economic downturn and are still working to replenish their financial reserves that were depleted to stay afloat.  By saving on payroll and related expenses, Arizona small businesses can recover their financial reserves faster and reestablish that safety net once again,” said Murray.

About ASBA The Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) is the largest trade association in the state representing 10,000+ member businesses, and over ½ million employees in all 15 counties. ASBA members enjoy access to significant group discounts, countless opportunities to do business with each other, a wide array of insurance products, and active advocacy efforts on public policy issues to protect their businesses.
