AZBizcon to feature networking and learning opportunities for Arizona businesses

Posted By Ashley Vizzerra, ASBA, Friday, August 23, 2019

Business professionals from organizations large and small will have an opportunity to network and learn from industry experts when AZBizCon returns to the Valley in late August.

The half-day event, organized by the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA), will be hosted at Venue 8600 in North Scottsdale on Tuesday, August 27 from 1-6 PM.

According to the event’s website, AZBizCon is designed for “anyone working to put an idea into action, get inspiration from leaders, connect with potential collaborators, manage an effective team, or understand the trends influencing the future of small business.”

According to Jodi Towns of the ASBA, the organization is expecting over two hundred attendees this year.

“We always focus more on the quality of the people attending versus the quantity,” Towns said. “It’s going to be quality people looking for products and services [and] information on how to grow their own business.”

The event is scheduled to kick off with an hour-long panel-discussion called “Tips and Secrets to Finding Talent in a Tough Market,” during which industry professionals will provide advice on recruiting and hiring strategies. The event’s website lists representatives from ZipRecuriter, VivaHR, Serendipit Consulting and other organizations as scheduled participants.

Towns says she thinks the panel will be one of the highlights of the event.

“That’s going to be a really important thing for a lot of people to sit in, listen, and learn from the experts… people who have been successful with finding that needle in a haystack of an employee,” she said.

Another opportunity at AZBizCon will be its speed mentoring sessions, where individuals can sign up to have their questions answered in subjects including law, marketing, finance and human resources, Towns said.

AZBizCon will also offer an exhibit hall to help connect attendees with a variety of small and large businesses, and a networking happy hour, the event’s website says.

There are opportunities for potential exhibitors to rent tables at the event. Current exhibitors listed include local universities, utility providers, law firms, startups, and even major companies like T-Mobile and Allstate.

Registration for AZBizCon is free for parties who RSVP online before the event.
