The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in collaboration with ASHLIN Management Group, is offering free workplace wellness training to businesses and other organizations through a new initiative called Work@HealthTM. This program is open to businesses of all sizes and industries around the country.

Work@HealthTM training will provide employers with the knowledge and tools to promote good health in their work places to prevent or reduce chronic illness and disability, which can improve productivity, and their overall competitiveness. Participants will have access to professional trainers and expert coaches who will provide personalized assistance in getting your wellness program started or improving your existing program.

Work@HealthTM is more than sitting in a class, listening to an instructor. The training curricula will be supplemented with a rich set of technical assistance activities and seed money to support your implementation of selected workplace health strategies. The creation and integration of peer learning networks will assist you and other employers in problem solving and overcoming barriers to building or enhancing your workplace health program.

Overview of Benefits
  • Free Professional training
  • Organizational Health Assessment to define existing needs
  • Technical Assistance and consultation with experts
  • Seed funding up to $5,000
  • An opportunity to network with peers

There are two ways to get involved with the Work@HealthTM program:

The Work@HealthTM Employer curriculum is designed to train employers how to establish, expand and improve science- and practice-based health promotion strategies that will lead to specific, measureable means to reduce chronic disease rates in the workplace.

The Work@HealthTM Train-the Trainer curriculum is designed to prepare qualified individuals to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to train other employers and organizations using the Work@HealthTM Curriculum. This is a good option for health departments, business coalitions, non-profits, or trade associations who support workplace health.
