ASBA AdvocacyThe Arizona Small Business Association's (ASBA) 2013 Legislative Agenda outlines the top issues Arizona's largest trade association will advocate for during this year's legislative session. The issues of Taxation, Regulation, Economic Development, Healthcare and Education remain the top five issues that the small-business focused association views as the most important to Arizona small businesses. As a statewide organization with business members in all 15 counties and all 30 legislative districts, ASBA will continue to focus and concentrate its efforts at the state level.

Jerry Bustamante"We believe that what is good for Arizona small businesses is good for Arizona," said Jerry Bustamante, Sr. VP, Public Policy and Southern Arizona. "Our goal is to continue to improve the business climate in Arizona where entrepreneurs can take risks and invest in their business with confidence, while creating much needed jobs." ASBA expects the simplification of Arizona's complex transaction privilege tax (TPT, commonly known as Arizona's sales tax) to be among the most important issues from which Arizona businesses can benefit. Education funding and restoring Medicaid funding are also expected to be big issues during this year's legislative session. In addition to publishing an annual legislative agenda, ASBA also publishes a legislative summary at the end of each session with a scorecard on how members of the legislature voted in regards to ASBA's priority bills.
