"M*A*S*H” Star and Author Wayne Rogers Will Provide Keynote Address

(Phoenix, April 6, 2011) – The Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) are announcing Arizona’s small business award winners. Eight business champions will be recognized during the 18th Annual Enterprise Business Awards Luncheon on May 5th at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in the Frank Lloyd Wright Ballroom. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer will provide welcome remarks. Wayne Rogers, successful entrepreneur, author of Make Your Own Rules and actor, most notable for his role as "Trapper John" in the classic comedy series M*A*S*H, will provide the keynote address. Award winning journalist and host of Arizona Highways Television, Robin Sewell will emcee the program honoring the amAZing® accomplishments of each awardee during one of our nation’s most challenging economic times.

"We are thrilled to recognize these extraordinary entrepreneurs who have demonstrated incredible staying power and exceptional results,” says Donna Davis, ASBA Chief Executive Officer. "This event is also an opportunity to celebrate all Arizona small business owners who continue to hang on as both the state and national economies change course and head into positive territory.”

Recipients of the 2011 U.S. Small Business Administration Awards represent small business achievements across the state.
· Small Business Person of the Year: J. Dan Kelley, managing member of Tierra Dynamic Integrated Environmental Services in Phoenix.
· Exporter of the Year: Mark Miller, account manager with Vante, a medical device manufacturer in Tucson.
· Family-Owned Business of the Year: Robert Hollis with Hollis Cinemas in Globe.
· Women in Business Champion of the Year: Debbie Chandler, executive director of Microbusiness Advancement Center in Tucson.
· Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year: Rayond Ragan III, president of Rook & Knight – Strategic Communications and Technology in Phoenix.
· Minority Small Business Champion of the Year: Tony Hatcher, retired SBE procurement manager with the City of Phoenix Finance Department/Purchasing Division.
· Financial Services Champion of the Year: Tim Collins, senior vice president – SBA lending for BNC National Bank in Cave Creek.
· Small Business Development Center Award: Randy Nelson, director of Arizona Western College, SBDC in Yuma.
